About ACF
In Africa a lack of sustainable development options is the driving force of both poverty and environmental degradation. Human encroachment, loss of habitat, hunting and poverty are factors working against the survival of endangered species.
The African Conservation Foundation is working to bridge the gap by linking people with conservation. Their overall goal is to change the management of natural resources to one in which the needs of human development are reconciled with nature conservation.
ACF is currently involved in gorilla and chimpanzee conservation and rainforest protection in Cameroon, and conducts community based forest management and wildlife conservation projects in East Africa. They also conduct environmental education activities for schoolchildren in East and Central Africa.
